Students at your school use Kaddy to plan homework and study. When one of them connects Google Classroom with their school account, Google shows “Access blocked: Your institution’s admin needs to review kaddyapp.com”. That’s because Google Workspace for Education blocks apps an admin hasn’t configured yet for users designated as under 18.
Kaddy asks for three read-only Classroom permissions, and only after a student chooses to connect:
Kaddy never writes to Classroom, never turns anything in, and doesn’t import grades. It can’t see other students, class rosters or teachers’ email addresses. It doesn’t use Classroom data for advertising or to train AI models. If a student uses one of Kaddy’s AI study tools on an imported assignment, that assignment’s text is sent to Anthropic to answer them, the same as anything else they ask. Google verified Kaddy’s app on 17 October 2026. The full details are in our Privacy Policy, under “Google user data”.
You need the Service Settings administrator privilege.

Students can also tap Request access on the blocked screen. Configuring Kaddy as above covers all of them at once.
Google asks schools to get parental consent where it’s required before allowing apps for students under 18. Our page for parents explains what Kaddy is and what it collects.
